This segment serves as the prologue for the entire play, setting the tone for the overall style.
I chose to employ exaggerated, surreal, and theatrical approaches in terms of timbre, rhythm, and musicality. The depicted scene involves Jupiter (the pseudo-god) and the flies dancing and engaging in a struggle in the darkness. The choreography includes some physical dance movements, culminating in a moment where, through an incantation (Jupiter: "Takulamahaha, gala, gala, pah, pah!"), Jupiter defeats the flies. The musical rhythm continuously accumulates and accelerates. Throughout the ascent of the rhythm, I incorporated heart-pounding experibass staccato and risers, continually building up tension and emotion. Finally, with Jupiter's explosive 'pah,' the flies are repelled.
This is the first act of the entire play. I aim to depict the city of Argos, where flies swarm the streets,
and the people lose their humanity. All the subjects feel deeply guilty, and the city presents a hot, oppressive, and dreary atmosphere. Simultaneously, during the dialogues between Zeus and Orestes, as well as the Tutor, I expanded my imagination based on the content of their conversations, creating sounds that one might hear in their dialogue scenes.
